Adam is a Urology Nurse Practitioner who has over 15 years of urology
nursing experience. He has post-graduate qualifications in urological
cancers, sexual health and cancer counselling, and continence
management. Recently, Adam was awarded the 2022 Australian and New
Zealand Urology Nurses Society (ANZUNS) Diamond award, which is the
highest award in urological nursing for Australia and New Zealand
presented to an individual, and this recognises his expert urology nursing
knowledge and contribution to the urology nursing society.
Adam is committed to providing comprehensive patient care, with a
particular focus on individuals who are undergoing urological cancer
surveillance and treatment, as well as those who are dealing with sexual
function challenges. While Adam possesses proficiency in various aspects
of urology, it is in the realm of sexual function that he has primarily
concentrated his knowledge and expertise.
He is enthusiastically involved in large-scale educational events for his
urology nursing colleagues and actively participates in national and state-
based policy development and review of processes across a wide range of
industry stakeholders.
Adam holds a Master of Nurse Practitioner at Flinders University and has
completed a Graduate Certificate of Urological and Continence Nursing at
La Trobe University. Adam is an Executive Committee member (Secretary)
for the Victorian/Tasmania Urology Nurses Society, and recently
represented Victoria and Tasmania on the national ANZUNS Executive
Committee. He is also the founder and chair of the ANZUNS Special
Interest Group for Nurse Practitioners, which is the first of its kind within
Australia. Furthermore, he is an invited research peer reviewer for the
International Journal of Urological Nursing (IJUN).
