Dr Uri Hanegbi is an experienced Urological Surgeon with a particular interest in the management of Prostate Cancer, benign prostate enlargement and kidney stones.
The full spectrum of prostate cancer treatments are offered by Dr Hanegbi, so that each patient can undergo the therapy which best suits their individual requirements. A comprehensive range of therapeutic modalities is available, including open radical prostatectomy, brachytherapy (radioactive seed implantation), and focal therapy for prostate cancer. Dr Hanegbi gained expertise in performing these treatments through training at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, where he undertook a Urologic Oncology Fellowship. He has also undertaken further training in the United States, gaining experience in nerve sparing radical prostatectomy, robotic surgery and brachytherapy.
Benign prostate enlargement is treated by a variety of medical and minimally invasive surgical techniques, depending on the patient’s specific Urological condition. In many patients surgical intervention is not indicated and Dr Hanegbi is able to guide patients in their decision-making process.
As part of Dr Hanegbi’s commitment to education and ongoing professional development, he is a Senior Monash University Lecturer and is involved in the selection, education and assessment of Urological Trainees.
